Let’s learn a little more about Rob Ulmer and his journey at Highland Title + Escrow.
Q: What is your role at Highland Title + Escrow?
A: As a settlement attorney, my goal is to make sure the transaction goes smoothly from start to finish. I ensure that my clients – buyers, sellers and agents – are set up for success well before we get to the settlement table! Through my 6+ years of experience as a settlement attorney, I have helped resolve many difficult title issues. Problems do arise from time to time but staying proactive, communicating issues immediately and looking for solutions keeps each transaction moving forward.
Q: How would you describe our company culture and environment?
A: The level of professionalism and support is unmatched, and the culture supports a team effort to solve issues. There are no silos at Highland. Everything we do leads to our team’s shared success. Our goal is to provide each client with a smooth settlement.
Q: What resources are offered to team members at Highland Title that support employee development?
A: Our underwriter counsel is always available for complex issues, but really, our biggest resource is our people. Through unparalleled experience and a network of industry relationship insight, we have our own built-in encyclopedias of knowledge at our disposal and a network of industry professionals to help us solve problems.
Q: What has been your biggest accomplishment while with Highland Title?
A: Getting the transaction closed by solving a serious title problem is huge for any title attorney, and nothing feels better than getting the final OK from your underwriter or the CEO to move forward to close. It is always nice when the title comes back clear, but you gain experience from the transactions that have problems that need to be solved. You also gain the respect and trust of your client which is just as satisfying.
Q: What are some things you have noticed about the Highland Title Leadership Team?
A: This answer relates back to what resources are offered; Mike, Don and David are all very approachable and responsive. This is important because their ability to know an answer quickly, rather than having to go to underwriting and wait a few days for an answer, leads to more business. It also leads to greater confidence and trust in us from our realtor clients.
Q: What is the most unique part about working at Highland Title?
A: Having spent 6+ years in the title industry and recently returning to the company, I can honestly say that Highland Title + Escrow embodies a work culture that is professional, experienced, and trustworthy. Our environment sets everyone up for success. While Highland Title has grown over the years, our work culture has been consistently supportive.
